Our Chardonnay comes from the cooler coastal plain and valleys, where the climate and fog help protect the grapes from the hot heat. This weather cools the vines and also makes for a very long growing season in moderate, even temperatures. These conditions allow our Chardonnay to retain its acidity levels, even as it sweetly ripens – creating a lean balance of slight sweetness and mild tartness that differs greatly from the Chardonnay grown in the hotter regions of California’s interior. Considered the “queen of white wines” Chardonnay grapes adapt well to a variety of climates making Chardonnay the most common and popular variety of white grape in wine production today.
